Originating from the south of Leeds, Astoria wear their ambient, soulful rock influences on their sleeve. Their first release 'Where The Light Lives', an alt-rock ballad intended as a love-letter to a friend, although written years too late. The track was as melancholy as it was uplifting. That sort of dancing in the rain while you cry your eyes out song. Where The Light Lives quickly became a staple of the Astoria live show and quickly became the catalyst for selling out their debut gig at Santiago Bar where the track was debuted along with many others, this became the start of an exciting journey for the band who shortly followed up on the excitement with their second single 'The Snow'.

The Snow, saw the band lean towards a more harder hitting and climactic sound, drawing more rock influences than indie. Despite the musical differences between the two tracks, The Snow stays contextually similar, a similar love letter to a friend however being far too early. The tracks climactic and hard hitting sound made it become a highlight at live shows, getting rooms of over 200 people off their feet.

Astoria went out to sell out the Lending Rooms in early January 2021 with the night being a massive success for the band leading to them announcing 'Astoria Takes On Leeds', a short one month tour of their home city, this would be a major challenge for any band around as long as Astoria, but they've proved themselves to be here for the challenge. After all, isn't that what its all about?
